Introduction
This web site has been designed to share articles and photos about Rhodesia Television (RTV).
Rhodesia introduced its monochrome service on November 14, 1960, becoming the first country in Africa south of the equator to get television.
Overview
With Rhodesia under United Nation sanctions since declaring a UDI (Unilateral Declaration of Indepence) from Britian in 1965, the production and engineering teams at RTV had to operate with minimal resources.
The engineering team resorted to finding ways around the sanctions are resorted to designing and building television equipment.
